FESA3 Release 4.0.0 - Planning

Release Date: Probably late summer 2016

Goals/Issues/Whishes

  • preferred: usage of new cluster running centos (asl74x)
    • requires CMW RDA 1.3.1 -> CSCOSV, V. Rapp
    • usage of ECA V2 -> CSCOTG / updated SAFTlib for ACC7-> "Taskforce": D. Day, S. Rauch, C. Handel, C. Prados
  • Migration tools to update from 3.1.0 to 4.0.0

Environment

  • wiki pages required for new release (including information on new developments)
  • documentation for FESA developers (wiki, webserver)
  • usage of test / prod DB environment (FESA plug-in, FEC configuration)
  • gsi-ctr-lib Speicherleck entdeckt von T. Milosic -> Bibliothek wurde aktualisiert / OK
  • condition tools in /common/usr/cscofe/bin/: conditions-loader, conditions-generator, conditions-legacy-importer -> CSCOFE / OK
  • FESA3 4.0.0 designs in DB -> CSCOSV, ab 10.08.2016

Sources

  • new release branch
  • code synchronization with CERN code while keeping GSI's features such as subsets alive
  • unit tests for FESA FWK

  • support for previous selector format for WR based timing is not required anymore on the long term / can be removed from fesa-core-gsi as soon as LSA supports new selector format (probably 2017)
    • Discuss with Harald Bräuning if FEX can drop support for old selector formats
