There are some Java-Tools for working with FESA-classes, that are usually accessible via the FESA-Homepage.
In the GSI-environment on asl715 they can be found in the folder /acc/local/Linux/fesa/2.9/javaTools.
Starting The Tools
Cd to /acc/local/Linux/fesa/2.9/javaTools/.
Run each with the command javaws . (The command javaws (java web start) runs the program named in the special xml-file with the extension jnlp. For more information see http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/JNLP )

Email from Michel, 22.02.08:
First of all I have to explain you some Datbase rules and constraints:
- An Instantiation document is defined by the triplet "FEC-name, ClassName, Version".
- An Equipment Class can be deployed only once on a single FEC (therefore is not possible to deploy AClass v0 and AClass v1 on the
same FEC. So you can't keep in the database the two Instantiation documents, which are in your particular case: "zFec, MX, 0" and
"zFec, MX, 3".
So you have to do what we call a "device promotion" in order to promote your Instantiation document "zFec, MX, 0" into "zFec, MX, 3". The DataManagment tool (FMT.jnlp) provide you an automatic way to do a such promotion. Starting this tool you will see the two
options : Edit (delete instances) and Promote (which allows you to promote Instances for FEc, class version "A" to version"B".
