Ring RF (ramped)

Most likely Ring-RF will be handled by FESA-class PowerSupply.

However, several specifics have to be considered, which should be collected here.

General Descriptions

Meetings

  • 4. March 2013, mit B. Zipfel (Ring-HF)
    • In the rings, in general, several RF cavities will be installed. For each cavity, several control signals have to be provided:
      • frequency ramp
      • amplitude ramp
      • phase ramp
      • resonanz ramp (magnetic field for cavity?)
    • The cavity will provide several acquisition values:
      • frequency (analogue)
      • amplitude (analogue)
      • phase (digital)
    • All four setting value ramps will be generated in one SCU crate. The crate will support one DDS with internal function generator), several DACs, all with function generator inside, and quite sure several ADCs for the acquisition data.
    • For each ring a central synchronisation unit will be foreseen. This unit will be installed by / interfaced by a separate SCU, handling
      • 4 DDS for several frequencies
      • 4 DDS for LO-frequencies (needed for heterodyne mixing the variable ring frequencies to fixed frequencies for filtering etc)
    • For mains power on/off, status information etc a PLC will be installed.
