NOTE: This is preliminary information only for a first test environment of FESA3. Some things will change in the next months until the 'final' version of FESA3 will be established at GSI.

Installation of Eclipse Ganymede

• java version "1.6.0_01", Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_01-b06), Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 1.6.0_01-b06, mixed mode)
• Download from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ (Java EE package recommended because of certain plugins)
• Install all the necessary plugins (CDT, Spring IDE, Jigloo SWT, Subversive SVN) using the Eclipse update manager

Installation of FESA-Eclipse-Plugins

• Add the URL http://cern.ch/test-FesaPlugin-prototype to the Eclipse update manager and install the FESA plugin as any other eclipse plugin.

Necessary modifications at GSI

At the moment some links are still hard coded in parts of the FESA environment. Some paths in Makefiles had to be adapted to the GSI-specific environment.
