FESA and RDA3

At CERN it is planned to have a working version of RDA3 by the end of 2013. RDA3 is a new development based on ZeroMQ instead of omniORB as RDA2. RDA3 supports 2D-Arrays and has a whole new API. This has an impact on FESA which relies on RDA. More information: http://wikis/display/MW/ (visible from within CERN's environment only).

Changes

  • ZeroMQ instead of omniORB
  • usage of boost, iceutils replaced
  • new API
  • different CPP packets
  • support of 2D arrays
  • new exception model
  • ...

Examples

Usage examples are located in CERN's SVN repository: https://svn.cern.cd/reps/acc-co/cmw/cmw-tools/src/demo/RDA3DataServer.cpp or https://svn.cern.cd/reps/acc-co/cmw/cmw-rda3/ (JAVA).
