Options Discussed (Brainstorming)

SIS18 -> ESR, "Fire and Forget" Injection

Process Outline

  1. ESR is brought to injection level and stays there
  2. A "nonterminating / infinite" beam is requested from SIS18
  3. When ready beam is sent from SIS18 to ESR without any notification
  4. At ESR beam is "measured" and if requirments are met ...
  5. ... beam request from SIS18 is removed

Needed Development Outline

  1. Pre / Post Workaround is needed to bring ESR to injection level

SIS18 -> ESR, Injection with Notification

Process Outline

  1. ESR is brought to injection level and stays there
  2. A "one time" Beam is requested from SIS18
  3. When ready beam is sent from SIS18 to ESR
  4. Continuation of ESR pattern is triggered from SIS18 pattern (notification)

Needed Development Outline

  1. Pre / Post Workaround is needed to bring ESR to injection level
  2. Connecting unidirectional two timing cores (SIS18 Pattern modifies ESR Pattern to continue)

  • Injection to ESR possible by request (regardless what ESR is doing ATM)
  • Additional implementation needed (coupling of patterns from different timing cores)
ESR -> SIS 18 Request, SIS 18-> ESR Notification  
  • A lot of additional implementation needed (probably not feasable for 2018)
