rough guideline for available software

Distribution

We are currently (as of 2023) running rocky linux 9

can i have ...?

we follow the packages of the distribution. If it is in there we can install it. If not we need to discuss if we can package it.

can i have a newer version of ...?

We don't repackage software provided by the distribution. If there is a package in the distribution, that version is set.

what about module streams?

A single module stream is used across all maintained systems. For example for postgresql we target version 12. Switching between module streams is not trivial.
