Xfer

Xfer is a mechanism to establish protocols by exchanging message objects. They are transferred in xml-encoded character string presentation between processes (Xfer and UV Presentation).

Universal Value

UV servers represent generic value structures to clients. It's protocol is realized with xfer. This way Java-Clients can easily connect to legacy Fortran applications applying the simple API to set up an UV-server (Xfer and UV Presentation).
