FESA Classes Existing or under Development

FESA Classes for General Use

  • PowerSupply
    • Various flavors have to be supported. Supported Interfaces are ACU, MIL, SCU-Busslave and various MSI-interfaces (CRYRING) including simple devices with just 1 setting value and complex devices with up to 2 settings. The devices can be DC, multiplexed or ramped.
    • Probably also used for Ring-RF Systems
    • Ideas for DC-mode properties to be used for (Super-) FRS washing procedures as well as for commissioning without timing.

  • Stepper Motor Control
  • Multi HV Power Supplies (CAEN), provided by LOBI
  • UEye (provided by LOBI: readout of fluorescent screens with GigE cameras; installed in the transport line ESR-HTA and in HHT)

  • Interlock-System (access to interlock system via FESA-Properties)

For ion sources in proton linac and in CRYRING

FESA Classes, CRYRING

For the CRYRING some of the already existing FESA classes have to be adapted and extended. In addition, some specific FESA-classes have to be developed:

To be developed at a later stage:
  • Injection kicker CRYRING (will be used only in later stages)
  • Step Generator, control of variation of electron-cooler platform voltage. Will be used for dielectronic recombination experiemnts (alternatively detuning electron beam velocity for some time in the range of 10 ms and returning back to ion velocity for cooling)

Virtual Frontend for Mockup Devices

To ease testing of applications, mock-devices are provided. Mock-devices have the prefix 'X' in their nomenclature. They provide for Access to their main properties, but in General don't implement any Equipment functionalit. Mock-devices should be installed on specific nodes, see virtual frontend.
