The Application for Parameter Modification (ParamModi) is an expert's tool for creating, manipulating and supplying settings.

Using the main view depicted below, init values contained in beam processes (which represent settings for a certain part of an accelerator) are composed into beam production chains (which represent all settings for a certain beam from source to target). Then, a schedule of beams is created in the form of a pattern that can be executed within the facility. At the right side of this view, one finds the parameters list which holds all commonly used high-level (physics) parameters needed to customize the beam. When these high-level parameters are changed, dependent parameters, all the way down to hardware parameters like current or voltage, are calculated by the settings management framework according to the calculation rules implemented by the machine physicists.

In the "Trim" view shown below allows the user to view all settings, including aforementioned hardware parameters. It also provides a graph view to be able to view settings for certain parameters over time, as needed e.g. for ramps.

In the future, ParamModi shall be accompanied by a set of more task-oriented and easier to use applications targeted at every-day operating.
